Families for Home Education

        Families for Home Education is a homeschool support group located in southern Louisiana. The group was organized to give support to homeschool families in this area, both experienced and new. We strive to educate and encourage families who have chosen to home educate their children.

        FHE was formed under the umbrella of CHEF of Louisiana, a state wide Christian home school group. The local group chose to be affiliated with CHEF due to the many benefits, including but not limited to discounts to their yearly convention. CHEF is vigilant to keep us abreast of pertinent legislative developments regarding homeschooling and lets us know when our input is needed at the state or national level. A portion of dues paid goes to membership in this state organization to help defray their expenses. All officers in the state and local groups serve as volunteers.

        Monthly newsletters are mailed to subscribing members, financed through dues.

        Affiliation with CHEF of Louisiana requires a member of CHEF of St. Charles/FHE to sign a statement of faith, education and family.

National Merit Semifinalist
Congratulations to Nathanael Straight on being named a National Merit Semifinalist. Nathanael was the only homeschool student to make the list of 130 in the New Orleans area.
