GGI Computers, Division of GetGo Business Solutions, Inc., located in Boutte, Louisiana, has entered the global market through the use of its Internet Web Site.  The Site was the first project created by Bob Whitman of Communities OnLine, Inc., another local River Parishes business.

According to Art and Artis Kelm, owners of GetGo Business Solutions, their Web Site has generated interest on both a national and international level.  Email requests for information about GGI's products are being received from several areas of the United States to Israel, Moscow, Guam, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, resulting in sales of computer systems over the Internet.

While GGI's, global success has been exciting, it really did not have a major impact on local business until a few weeks ago when they were contacted by a Taiwanese manufacturing firm.  SVEC International, was seeking U.S. Distributors for their Industrial Computer equipment when they found GGI on the Internet. SVEC International, has been in business for eleven years and services companies such as 3Com and Cisco with their Industrial Computer equipment.

SVEC International, sent a sales representative to visit GGI's facilities, and as a result of this visit, the computer company has placed several 19" rack mount pieces of equipment at GetGo store for the November Industrial Computer Show.

Plans are being made with the representative of SVEC, to discuss a future business partnership with GGI as a distributor for the eastern United States. A bonding of two business entities such as SVEC and GetGo Business Solutions, could ultimately result in a multimillion dollar business. Success such as this shows the value of Internet advertising, language barriers and time zones do not have to be an obstacle for attracting foreign investment to local companies.
