Salvation
Eternal life
If you are not a Christian, but are interested in learning about the Lord Jesus and how to
accept Gods free gift of salvation, here is some information that might help you.
The Bible verses here are taken from the New International Version of the Bible.
1) God loves you, and has a wonderful plan for your life. No matter who
you are, no matter what youve done, GOD LOVES YOU.
I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more
abundantly. John 10:10
2) Man is sinful. Sin separates you from God. Everyone sins.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus
our Lord. Romans 6:23
3) Nothing you can do can save you. You can never do enough good works to
earn eternal life. However, Gods love has made a way for you to be with Him in
heaven. Jesus Christ is Gods provision for mans sin--His only provision. Jesus
took the punishment for your sins by sacrificing Himself on the cross for you. Through
Jesus you can know Gods love and plan for your life.
Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to
the Father except through Me. John 14:6
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners,
Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
4) To receive this wonderful gift, you must receive Jesus Christ as your personal
Lord and Savior. You accept the gift God has offered. No matter where you are in
your life, God offers you this gift--eternal life with Him in heaven--if you believe in
and accept His Son, Jesus Christ, and invite Him into your life as Lord and Savior.
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of
God, to those who believe in His name. John 1:12
You can receive Christ right now by faith through prayer. (Prayer is talking with God.)
That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart
that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For whoever shall calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13
God knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of
your heart. However, here is a sample prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner and in need of your forgiveness. I am sorry for my sins. I
believe that you died and took the punishment for my sins and that you rose from the dead.
I invite you to come into my heart. I receive you as my Savior and want to follow you as
my Lord. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
When you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you are a part of the family
of God. You belong to Him and you are His child. You can know that your eternal future is
secure and that whatever earthly troubles you face, God will also be at your side to help
you through them.
You may want to consider following this decision with baptism and church membership. Talk
to the pastor of your home church about your decision and he can further advise you.
